Wind Ensemble is a premier performing ensemble for Park High. Wind Ensemble is designed for Park High's top musicians. Consisting primarily of upperclassmen, participation in this ensemble is granted exclusively by audition. This ensemble performs at four formal concerts, a performance at District Music Festival, and several other community events.
Students in this ensemble play a very high level of Wind Band literature, perform in Pep Band, and participate in District Music Festival both as large ensemble and several smaller student ensembles.
Concert Band is open to all band students at Park High School. It is intended as a class to further the musical ability of every band student, as well as offer opportunities for small ensemble participation. In this class, students are able to learn the fundamentals of musicianship that will help them to excel in their future band classes.
Students in this ensemble enjoy a small class size and more "one-on-one" time with the director, all of which is intended to give the band student the opportunity for personal and musical growth. Students are also encouraged to participate in small ensembles within the class as are available.
The Concert Band will perform at four formal concerts per year, in addition to performing at District Music Festival, and participating in Pep Band.
