The start of a new year often brings with it reflection on the past year and new personal goals moving forward. Students, consider your pursuit of music and what new goals you may have. Music learning doesn't simply bring you a new skill but benefits us in so many ways we may not immediately see. For starters, brain research has concluded that the process of learning to play an instrument benifits your brain more than any other activity.

Here are some fantastic ways to make your brain a priority in 2020!

  • Establish a Practice Routine

  • Increase Your Practice Time

  • Create a Proper Warm-Up

  • Start Taking Lessons, or Start Again!

  • Explore New Repertoire

  • Compose Original Music

  • Book a Gig or Perform at an Open Mic

  • Look for More Opportunities to Play

  • Save for A New Instrument

Winter Break Assignment

Due January 6th @ 8 & 9AM (25 points in the grade book)

Students are assigned to spend a minimum of 3:30 hours playing their instrument. Parent Approved Signature required. This is best not attempted as one chunk of time, rather several mini sessions. Practice whatever you'd like, just enjoy hanging with your instrument.
